About This Project

This project was for a Master's User Centered Design class. Our group redesigned and pitched a new version of Microsoft's Skydrive by applying multiple research methods to improve user experience. I worked as the UX/UI Designer for the team, applying the user research gathered by my teammates to inform my designs.
For this project, I started with rough sketches which I built out into a larger paper prototype to use for RITE sessions. Our team worked together to run the sessions, and in between test subjects, we integrated their feedback into the design before the next test user arrived.
I integrated all the feedback from these sessions into medium fidelity designs built in Axure which then went though another round of user testing. I finished with high fidelity comps created in Photoshop.
This project was uniquely challenging because Windows 8 hadn't officially been released yet, and our only references were a handful of preview images released by Microsoft.
After later presenting my design to Microsoft designers and then working with them for over a year, I can see the design language mistakes I made in retrospect. Nonetheless, I'm still very happy with this design even where I deviated from Microsoft One design requirements.
