I worked for Vysk as a hybrid UX/UI Designer creating user flows, wireframes, and high fidelity designs for their iOS and Android apps.  The app keeps users text messages and images safe from hackers.

 

In order to better tailor the app to the user base, I also conducted user research (including interviews, participatory design sessions, surveys, and card sorts.)

Most of my ideas started on the whiteboard.  I like to sketch quickly and iterate often in lower fidelity mediums where I can work on the overall experience before I start pushing pixels.

 

My biggest challenge in this project was building the on-boarding process for users.  It had to be as easy as possible, but the company’s encryption technology required a lot of user input to function.  I started by writing out lists of all the steps, then worked with the app developer to streamline that process further.

After working with the dev, I went back to my whiteboard and started to sketch out basic interactions.  I took these ideas into a wireframing software to add more detail and further refine my ideas. Every company I've worked with had different preferences/resources for wireframing tools, so I've built wireframes with numerous different tools including Sketch, Axure, Fireworks, and Powerpoint.
